This is the webpage for the upcoming Workshop on Diagrammatic Reasoning, organized by Solomon Feferman and Barbara Tversky.
Diagrams of all kinds have been used for expressing thought throughout the history of humanity: maps, tomb paintings, mandalas, geometry treatises, science texts, architectural plans, assembly diagrams, interactive graphics, and more. They also serve as tools for thinking in diverse disciplines, philosophy, mathematics, computer science, psychology, design, art, humanities, and more. Scholars from many of these disciplines will discuss the roles of diagrams in thought. We welcome others interested in diagrammatic reasoning to this workshop. The workshop will take place on the 13th of March, 2010, from 9:00am to 6:30pm in Cordura 100 (see here for directions). |
